Event description

Description

At Therapy Foundations we explore the building blocks of development and foundations for learning. We are knowledgeable about stages of development and the appropriate milestones in a child’s physical, perceptual, cognitive and sensory development. Our aim is to allow parents and carers to fully understand the challenges and barriers to development children may face. Also, to explain the importance of early social and motor achievements and learning as foundations for emotional, social and motor intelligence. In doing this we need to establish the child’s earliest behaviour and to the role of early reflexes which if not integrated will impact on arousal and anxiety and inhibit sound postural reflex development.

The Empower project is a Big Lottery funded initiative through the Reaching Out Supporting Families Programme which support Families across Mid Ulster and Antrim & Newtownabbey Council areas. The focus of the project is to support children under 12 with Autism, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia, their parents and the wider family circle to enhance confidence and learn together to develop skills to support their children.
