Dr Paul Lattimore, Psychologist & Mindfulness Teacher

I came to mindfulness meditation at a very stressful time in my life. I have not looked back. Practicing meditation transformed my life. It helps me cultivate more caring and loving relationships, keeps me focused on what I want to achieve, helps me remain calm in the face of daily hassles and stress, I sleep better, and I get pleasure from the simple things in life. I opted to train as a mindfulness teacher after establishing a daily meditation practice. Teaching and research experience in psychology complements the approach I take to delivery of mindfulness courses. I provide an open, evidence-based approach to learning mindfulness skills, supplemented with personal inquiry of direct life experience. Twenty years of teaching experience in higher education provides the skill set that equips me to teach adults in any context. When I first came to mindfulness, I could manage ten minutes of meditation a day. After much practice and training, I manage an hour or more most days. Such depth of practice is vital to maintaining integrity in teaching meditation.

I completed mindfulness teacher training with Breathworks whose accreditation meets the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teacher Training good practice guidelines.

My educational background includes a PhD in Psychology (Manchester University), BSc (Hons) in Psychology (LJMU), and a PGCert in Teaching & Learning (Liverpool University). I have specialist research and teaching interests in the application of mindfulness meditation to emotional eating.
