Theme: "Fact + Fiction"

Join us for the September meeting of our monthly book club at Chener Books in East Dulwich!

In our August meeting, members picked Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar among the three titles we suggested for the "Fact + Fiction" theme, which are fiction books based on real events.

A poetic, searching novel about a recovering addict and orphaned Iranian-American man obsessed with martyrdom - religious, political, artistic. As he drifts through a surreal post-9/11 America, the story asks what it means to live, die, and be remembered.

Book club participants can purchase their copy at Chener Books with a 20% discount.
