Happy September!
This month we’re exploring life in a city through The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy — a Booker Prize–winning novel set in Kerala, India. With lyrical prose and layered storytelling, Roy captures the beauty and contradictions of everyday life, while unearthing the secrets, politics, and heartbreak that shape a family across generations. It’s a story about memory, place, and how small things reverberate into the largest of consequences.
A note from August: Since we didn’t have a book club last month, there will also be an opportunity to engage with Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. The theme for August was transition and reflection, and a discussion guide will be available. There’s no pressure to read both books and you’re welcome to join the September session with whichever one speaks to you.
Whether you've just started or have already turned the final page, you're invited to join us for meaningful discussions and a round of speed book dating to connect with fellow readers and their all-time favorite books.
Come find warmth, connection, and inspiration in our cosy corner of London this September - your safe space to explore stories and shared experiences.
