About this event
Drumming Circle
Come and join us for special night of drumming at Rika ACE CIC (Rika Bushcraft)!
Our Drumming Circle is a sacred community building event where you can connect with yourself & each other through the power of the drum.
The drum circle is a time-honoured way of being together, to honour the ancestors and for healing. Being out on the land, amongst the trees under a canopy of stars with a fire pit to warm our bones will be an unforgettable experience.
We play the drum, use rattles and use our voices intuitively, there are no set rythms to follow. You will be invited to join in with some simple rituals, like using sacred smoke to cleanse your drum, give an offering to the fire or speaking words of gratitude.
We have the use of the roundhouse and firepit or the outdoor woodland areas depending on the weather!
Please note as we are borrowing the land from the wildlife it is essential you do not drop any litter, smoking is not permitted on the site and any concerns about disrespectful behaviour can be raised in confidence with Claire.
Please read the FAQs below which should answer anymore questions you might have or contact Claire the event organiser.
Frequently asked questions
• Your Drum or rattle • Something to sit on like a mat for the ground or a camping chair • A blanket if you might get cold • Weather appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes • Something to place on the altar space • Something to drink and a snack • A torch in the darker months
There is a small area just off the lane to park about 10 cars. Car share if you can please and park considerately on the night so that we can squeeze you all in.
There is a short, inclined driveway in between the parking area and the woodland. It can get muddy/ uneven so if you aren't sure please contact Claire the event organiser.
Yes there is a toilet block and handwashing facilities
There may be spare drums or rattles to use on the night or share but this cannot be guaranteed. You can always use your voice, clack two sticks or clap your hands. Sometimes it is nice just to come and be a part of the evening or if you're looking to purchase or birth your own drum I can help.
Your ticket covers the cost of hiring the space, along with firewood to keep us all cosy. It also ensures that I am paid fairly for my time preparing, delivering and closing down the event - (assuming that all tickets are sold). During the winter months I will serve ceremonial cacao.
Use Google Maps and search Rika ace. This should direct you straight to the entrance & car park. Head down Longdale Lane away from Ravenshead, pass a garage & cherubs nursery on your right. Then look for the speed limit change to 40. Then the out of limits sign. It's the 3rd driveway on the left.
Cacao will be served from autumn through to late spring. Cacao is a ceremonial drink made with water and oat mylk. It has been used for centuries in ritual and community. A gentle plant medicine that helps you connect more deeply with yourself, others and nature.
