The SERA Poverty and Education Network presents a special event to highlight some of the current work being conducted to address the impact of poverty on education in Scotland. We are delighted that Professor Chris Chapman and Alison Drever have agreed to discuss the work of Children’s Neighbourhoods Scotland.

Children’s Neighbourhoods Scotland

Children’s Neighbourhoods Scotland (CNS) is a place-based programme working to improve outcomes for all children and young people in neighbourhoods with high levels of poverty. The programme is based in the University of Glasgow and run in partnership with The Glasgow Centre for Population Health. Working with children and young people, their families, local public, private and third sector organisations CNS is supporting efforts to reduce poverty and increase participation and capacity within communities. CNS is focused on strengthening the voices and promoting the priorities of children and young people and supporting partnerships and collaboration between organisations and services. The programme works in six communities which include urban, small town and rural contexts.
