ABOUT THE CLASS:

Join Tim Franklin for two separate 1-hour sessions on our 'Serene Saturday'.

On Saturday, 13th September 2025, join us for two, outdoor mindful sessions with Sifu Tim Franklin. We are hoping to run the sessions out on the Lairg Primary School Playing Field, with the Lairg Community Centre Main Hall as a backup for adverse weather.

  • Tai Chi - 12.30pm-1.30pm
  • Qigong - 2pm-3pm

No flexibility or prior yoga experience is needed – this practice meets you where you are. Ideal for anyone looking to feel more relaxed, grounded, and connected.

Tai Chi: Tai chi is a mind-body practice with roots in Chinese martial arts, but is now primarily known as a gentle, low-impact exercise and form of "meditation in motion". It involves a series of slow, flowing movements, deep breathing, and focused mental concentration to improve physical health, mental calmness, and a sense of inner balance and well-being.

Qigong: Life can feel relentless. Constant demands, pressure to keep going, a mind that rarely switches off – it’s no wonder so many of us feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from ourselves. Qigong offers a different way. It’s not another thing to achieve, but a gentle returning – to breath, to body, to presence.

Bring: a yoga mat, blanket or cushion, and anything that helps you feel comfortable.

Open to: beginners and experienced yogis alike.

Length: 2 separate sessions of 1 hour each.

Breathe, soften, and return to a state of calm.

This workshop is funded by The National Lottery Awards for All.
