Event description

This workshop will outline the important role of councils and those who have a safeguarding role in making our communities safer, working with law enforcement partners to tackle SOC.

You will have the opportunity to hear how an Organised Crime Group’s activity impacted on a local community in Crawley, and how the recently implemented local partnership SOC approach adopted across West Sussex is designed to tackle local issues.

Attendance will help you understand how people can become drawn into serious and organised crime in your local area and help you in the identification of at-risk individuals and families you may be working with.

This one hour workshop is primarily aimed at frontline staff who work with children, young people and potentially vulnerable adults.

This includes professionals working in:

  • Education,

  • Anti-social behaviour teams

  • Health, including mental health services

  • Children and young people services

  • Social care services

  • Housing services

  • Law enforcement (police) and related partner organisations.

  • Probation services

  • Youth offending teams

  • Substance and alcohol misuse services

  • Voluntary and community sector
