Service Design in LocalGov: An evening with FutureGov and Essex County Coun...
Event Information
Description
It’s an exciting time to join Essex County Council’s Service Design team. Working with FutureGov, we’ve been reimagining public services in Essex to be faster, better and cheaper. Building on the work of the Government Digital Service, we’re establishing new digital and design professions and agile ways of working within one of the UK’s largest local authorities.
On 9 January, FutureGov is hosting an event to find great people who want to develop their careers and help to transform the lives of Essex residents. The evening will include talks from leaders at FutureGov and Essex County Council to learn our work and how your skills could benefit the pioneering work we’re doing, including:
-
Why it’s a great time to be designing services for local government - Ben Holliday, FutureGov - Chief Design Officer.
-
Why service design matters to local government and Essex County Council - Jason Kitcat, Essex County Council - Executive Director for Corporate Development.
-
Service design case study - TBC
Working at Essex County Council you will be at the front-line of public service delivery, where good service design and positive user experiences can really make a difference. This is a unique opportunity to design across a diverse range of services in multi-disciplinary teams alongside service users, front-line professionals and commissioners, insight, policy, technology and delivery colleagues.
The evening will end with networking from 7.30PM onwards. Refreshments available throughout. Both Essex County Council & FutureGov will be there to answer any questions.
