Service Network members are invited to a half day workshop to explore opportunities in Service Design. RTC’s Terry McStea will host the interactive session and Nick Devitt from Innovation Scout will facilitate some hands on activities to showcase the importance of design in the Service Sector.
Participants will be immersed into service design thinking, introduced to some tools and frameworks to focus on customer experiences and characteristics.
By exploring human centred design delegates will be primed to visualise their user, experience and maybe identify some new opportunities!

Nick started his career designing compost bins and other functional products! That was during 4 years studying Design for Industry BA (Hon’s) at Newcastle Polytechnic. He subsequently went back to the University of Northumbria to work in the Centre for Industrial Design identifying client opportunities to apply new product development technology and methodologies. After a stint in business support he then moved into digital in the late 1990’s setting up Presence Multimedia ltd.
From 2005 Nick has worked independently and as part of bespoke teams in service design and innovation. His background in product design and digital underpins his current work in service innovation that is predominantly with public services and small businesses.
The event is free to members of Service Network and non-members can attend for £50+VAT (&fees).
