Sesiynau Marcio Cefnogol Cynradd- Ymresymu Rhifyddol

Bydd GwE yn cynnig cefnogaeth i ysgolion cynradd eto eleni ar farcio’r prawf Rhifedd (Ymresymu). Bydd y sesiynau hyn yn cael eu harwain gan dîm Rhifedd GwE, sydd wedi cael hyfforddiant ychwanegol ar hyn gan y Sefydliad Cenedlaethol er Ymchwil i Addysg (NFER), sef datblygwyr y prawf. Y nod fydd uwchsgilio’r arweinydd rhifedd pob ysgol fel bod ganddynt well dealltwriaeth a gwybodaeth am y cynlluniau marcio ar gyfer yr ystod gynradd lawn (Blynyddoedd 2–6) ac fel y gallant weithredu fel yr ‘arbenigwr’ mewnol yn yr ysgol, gan gefnogi aelodau eraill o staff. Ceir hefyd gyfle i drafod y dadansoddi diagnostig ar y canlyniadau, fel y bydd eich arweinydd rhifedd yn gallu adnabod yn well gryfderau’r ysgol a’r meysydd sydd i’w datblygu o ran ymresymu rhifiadol.

Bydd y sesiynau hanner diwrnod yn cael eu cynnal ar draws y Rhanbarth, gyda chyfle i’r Arweinydd Rhifedd fynychu’r lleoliad fwyaf cyfleus.

Er mwyn i’ch arweinydd rhifedd fanteisio’n llawn yn sgil mynychu’r digwyddiad hwn, awgrymwn:

  • Eu bod wedi darllen drwy’r cynlluniau marcio ar gyfer yr holl brofion (Blynyddoedd 2–6) cyn y digwyddiad
  • Eu bod wedi marcio, neu drafod marcio, canran o bapurau cyn y digwyddiad, fel eu bod yn ymwybodol o unrhyw anawsterau neu anghysondebau penodol yn eich ysgol.
  • D.S.Dylid dod â sgriptiau a farciwyd gyda hwy, a rhai heb eu marcio, fel y gellir cwblhau’r gwaith yn rhan o’r sesiwn. Bydd hyn yn rhoi cyfle i’r arweinydd rhifedd rannu negeseuon allweddol gyda staff eraill ar ôl dychwelyd i’r ysgol, gan sicrhau, drwy hynny, fwy o gysondeb a hyder wrth farcio’r sgriptiau sy’n weddill.

Primary Supported Marking Sessions – Numerical Reasoning

GwE will be offering support for primary schools on the marking of the Numerical Reasoning test again this year. These sessions will be led by GwE’s numeracy team, who have been given additional training on this by NFER, the test developers. The aim will be to upskill the numeracy leaders from each school to have a greater understanding and knowledge about the mark schemes for the full primary range (Years 2-6) and to act as the resident expert within school, supporting other members of staff. There will also be an opportunity to discuss the diagnostic analysis of the results, so that your numeracy leader will be able to better identify the school’s strengths and areas for development with regards to numerical reasoning.

The half day sessions will be held at different locations regionally, with the opportunity for the numeracy leader to attend the most convenient location.

In order for the numeracy leader to fully benefit from attending this event we suggest that:

  • They have read through the mark schemes for all the tests (Years 2-6) before the event
  • They have marked, or discussed the marking of, a small percentage of papers before the event, so that they are aware of any specific difficulties or anomalies in your school.
  • N.B. They should bring with them some marked scripts, and some unmarked, so that the work may be completed as part of the session, allowing the numeracy leader the opportunity to share key messages with other staff after returning to school, thus securing a greater consistency and confidence in marking the remaining scripts.
