This is the third in a series of technical lectures on the Building Safety Act and its impact on the wider industry. This session will focus on the Golden Thread. It will explain what the Golden Thread of construction record information is and the reliance the Safety Case has on the robustness of this, and set out the responsibilities that structural engineers have in achieving a suitable comprehensive and usable Golden Thread of record information.

Note that this will be one of a series of BSA-related CPD sessions through 2025

Calum Lockhart, Senior Engineer, IStructE

Calum Lockhart has a diverse background in engineering, and has worked on a variety of projects spanning building, civil, and bridge structures. Calum has also championed digital innovation within the field, developing digital tools and supporting open-source projects.

At the IStructE, he leads the research into and creation of practical guidance for emerging digital engineering technologies.

Calum is a committed to tackling the challenges of adopting digital tools, and drive meaningful progress in the advancement of the use of technology in the field of structural engineering.
