Have you considered setting up a business with a social mission? If so, a social enterprise model might be right for you.

RVA are working in partnership with SKS Scotland to offer this evening workshop as a beginners guide to Social Enterprises for anyone who has, or is considering setting up a social enterprise in Reading.

Key Outcomes:

1. What is a social enterprise?

  • Clarify the meaning of social enterprise and explore how organisations can be more enterprising
  • Increase awareness of the options around social enterprise
  • Provide practical advice to those interested in developing a social enterprise

  • Financial and management arrangements
  • Incorporating legal structures and models

What you can expect from attending:

The Trainer:

Shona is the founder of SKS and an experienced senior manager who specialises in setting up and growing organisations, providing feasibility studies, research and business planning. Shona brings together the breadth of experience gained from thirty years of successfully working both within the commercial business sector, integrated with the cultural ethos of the public and not for profit sector. Shona has a strong focus on employability and health and well being projects.


This course is primarily for those operating or wishing to set up a social enterprise in Reading. If you operate in another area, we can add you to the waiting list and will let you know if there are still spaces available nearer the date.
