Setting up an AIF: A roadmap for success
Thu 25 May 2017, 09:00 – 17:00 BST
The GFM “Setting up an Alternative Investment Fund in Europe” event is aimed at fund managers looking to make their first foray into setting up their own alternative funds business, and what the best pathway should be to establishing an AIFMD-compliant fund product.
A series of five panel discussions will attempt to provide a clear roadmap on each of the key stages involved in thinking about the process of establishing an AIF; something that has taken on greater significance following the UK’s Brexit decision last June.
Today, for anyone looking to set up an EU regulated fund, there are so many considerations that need to be thought through: determining what the legal structure should be; which European jurisdiction to choose; who the target investors and overall distribution strategy will be; whether to set up a standalone fund or use a regulatory platform etc.
Regardless of whether attendees already operate a European alternative fund or are thinking of establishing one, the GFM “Setting up an Alternative Investment Fund in Europe” event will reveal just what it takes to get a fund off the ground in today’s complex regulatory environment.
