Event description

Description

‘Settled Mind’ is a 5-week course for parents, teachers and anyone who works with children or adolescents, on what it means to be resilient and live from a settled mind.

According to mentalhealth.org, 20% of all adolescents experience anxiety, depression or severe stress in any given year.

They go on to say that 75% of all mental health problems experienced by adults were established before the age of 24, with mixed anxiety and depression being the most common problems. The DWP estimates that the economy loses between £74 and £99 billion a year as a result.

This is why as a parent, teacher or someone who works with children/adolescents, understanding resilience and how a settled mind is created, is key helping our children grow and learn successfully. In addition, understanding your own psychology is crucial if you want to experience less stress, less anxiety and a greater sense of ease.

Join me on Wednesday 10th January 2018, for the first of five sessions when we'll be exploring the principles behind what it means to be resilient and have a settled mind.

What we’ll be covering during the 5 weeks:

  • how the settled mind works
  • stress – it’s not what you think!
  • the power of insight
  • the innate nature of resilience
  • successful skills development, performance and experiencing less pressure, anxiety and stress

Sessions to be held in the library at Settle College on the following dates:

Wed’s 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st Jan and 7th Feb 2018, 6.30 – 8.30pm.
