Where are we going

We will be Hiking from Cuckmere BN25 4AD to Birling Gap and possibly Eastbourne ( 7 -10 KM).

We will assemble on Canadian Avenue (free parking), near the car park entrance of Laurence House, Catford SE6 4SW for 7.15am where we aim to leave for 7.30am by car. Those requiring a lift, should indicate below. If you have your own transport, or will be coming by Transport, please confirm also.

The closest train stations from London are: Seaford BN25 4AR.

We will drive to Cuckmere, Seaford and meet at the car park BN25 4AD, and use the nearby toilets and we aim to do some light gentle exercise before we set off around 9am/9.30am.

The walk will start at 9.30am approx. It is a challenging route to Birling Gap as we will be climbing up hills on and down, as we trek the seven sisters. It’s mainly grass, but there are also rocky pebble sections of pebbles. We will have a break at Birling Gap Café where we will relax or enjoy and reflect on our route/journey. We might continue to Eastbourne, depending on the weather and pace. There is lots to see and do in Eastbourne, stores/shops/bars/cafes, or just walk or sit along the sea front. We can set a return time, for 2/3pm, but we will be guided by the weather and pace.

Our plan is to get back to the car park by 4.30pm . And drive back to London by 7pm latest.

Please check your fitness levels, and ensure that you are well enough to participate on the day. You are responsible for your own health and wellbeing, so please be mindful, as it might impact on the group.

What to bring with you:

Please ensure you wear suitable boots or trainers for walking and be dressed for the weather conditions. Please be ready for light exercises at the start and end, and have a small pouch/rucksack or bag with snack/fruit and water/wipes/flannel (especially if it is warmer/hot). Please bring a smile to enjoy the occasion.
