Description

THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT, FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN ON THE WAITING LIST AND NOT YET HEARD FROM US - WE ARE SORRY BUT NO FURTHER TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS SUCCESSFULLY REGISTERED. WE WILL SEE YOU ALL ON SUNDAY.

Get Active, have fun and raise money for good causes in your local community!

A 5km (3.1m) event around Knole park for the whole family. Run or walk at your own pace and raise money for your chosen cause. All entrants will be timed and receive a medal, certificate and goody bag at the end! Organised by Sevenoaks Primary School in aid of our new school build, we invite you to join us and raise sponsorship for the school / group / charity of your choice.

Tell us the team you are running / walking for, and receive a printed sign to wear on the day. Or if you’d prefer to participate independently, that’s fine too! If you would like to register your school or community group as a team, please let us know and we will add them to the list on our registration page.

Please note that all children up to the age of 16 must be registered by a parent / guardian. Children up to the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times whether running or walking.

On the day

Please arrive from 1pm and head to the Registration Area located in Duke's Meadow, Sevenoaks School where you will be given your runner number and sign indicating who you are running for. You will be directed to the start line in Knole park where the run will start at 2pm.

Parking will be limited at Sevenoaks School, so please allow yourself plenty of time. Free parking is available in Sevenoaks town centre on Sundays, so we advise families to use this option where possible. There will be a drop off area for little legs should you find there is no parking left in Duke's Meadow, but please note children under the age of 12 should not be left unsupervised.

There will not be any changing facilities so we suggest you arrive in your running / walking gear. There will be an area available to leave bags but all items are left at your own risk and we advise against leaving any valuables.

The course is a 5km (3.1m) circuit within Knole park (download map) and there will be signs and marshals to direct you along the way. Please note that parts of the route are unpaved and we recommend you wear appropriate footwear. Refreshments will be available throughout the course to keep you going!

When you finish you will be given a medal, a certificate and a goody bag. A BBQ and hot refreshments will await at Duke's Meadow for those who have worked up an appetite!

FAQs

Where does the run start?

The event will start and finish in Knole park but entrants should congregate at Duke's Meadow which is accessed by heading south along Sevenoaks High Street. Leave the High Street, go past the entrance to Knole park, St. Nicholas Church and Sevenoaks School. The entrance to Duke's Meadow is on the left.

What are the timings on the day?

Participants should arrive from 1pm to give sufficient time to register for the event. All runners and walkers will start at 2pm.

What are my transport / parking options getting to the event?

Parking will be extremely limited at Duke's Meadow, Sevenoaks School, so please allow yourself plenty of time. However there will be a drop off area for little legs. Free parking is available in Sevenoaks on Sundays, so we advise participants to use that where possible.

What shall I wear?

Much of the course is unpaved and may be muddy. We recommend you wear appropriate footwear to avoid injury.

Will there be changing facilities?

No. There will be toilets and an area available to leave bags, but all items are left at your own risk and we advise against leaving any valuables.

Will there be refreshments?

Refreshments will be available throughout the day on the event site.

Can I walk?

Yes of course. This event is for everyone, whether you want to walk, jog or run.

Are dogs permitted?

Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted because it starts and ends within Sevenoaks School grounds.

Is the course suitable for a wheelchair or pushchair?

Unfortunately much of the course is unpaved and unsuitable for standard wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Do I get a medal or a goody bag?

As you cross the finish line you’ll be given a medal and a goody bag. A certificate with your time will also be available to collect before you leave.

Is there any medical support?

First aid providers will be available on site. In case of emergency, we will ask you to give an emergency contact on the back of your runner number. We ask that you only register if you are fit and well enough to do so and remind you that you participate at your own risk.

How old do I have to be to take part?

There’s no age limit – everyone’s welcome! If you are under the age of 16 then you must be registered by a parent or guardian. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times whether running or walking. It's important to note that children remain the responsibility of the primary carer at all times.

Do I have to fundraise?

Fundraising is entirely optional. This event has been organised by Sevenoaks Primary School in aid of our new school build. Through entering you will help us in our goal of raising £300,000 towards our new school. In recognition of that support however we invite all participants to collect sponsorship for the school / group / charity of their choice. If your school or group is not already registered please let us know. Once we have permission we will then list it on our registration page so that you and others can run for your school or group with the name of that group on your printed back sign. To download a copy of the event sponsor form please go to http://www.sevenoaksprinewbuild.co.uk/family-5k.

Can I make a donation to Sevenoaks Primary School?

Is it possible to obtain a refund if I am no longer able to participate?

Unfortunately refunds are not possible, but please email us at sevenoaksfamily5k@gmail.com if you would like to transfer your place to somebody else at no cost.

Do I need to bring a ticket / email confirmation?

Bringing your email confirmation would help speed up registration, but it is not a requirement as we will also have your name on an attendee list.
