In these difficult times, opportunities for connecting with people are so limited. However, our tree planting programme offers a chance to get involved in covid-safe, and currently permitted, community volunteering work that will:

• bring a little joy into your life
• allow you to engage safely with like-minded people
• let you do something positive for the environment and the town
• make you feel good

Sevenoaks Rec Planting - Information for Volunteers

Important Info

• We will be operating a socially distanced, covid-secure project. Please help us by observing UK guidelines on social distancing, and following all supervisor guidance on health and safety. The site is outside with lots of room to enable social distancing. Soap, water and hand sanitiser will be freely available.
• Please bring your own spade and gloves if possible- although some are available to borrow.
• The field is very wet and muddy! Wear boots, wellies or old shoes, WARM clothing and a waterproof jacket, and optionally waterproof trousers if raining. Expect to get muddy!
• There will be a short briefing for all volunteers at the start of each planting session so please arrive on time so you don't delay the start.
• There are no loos on site – only hedges! The nearest facilities are at Asda in Sovereign Harbour.
• We aim to provide you with a hot drink and biscuits. Please bring any additional food you might want.
• All planting sessions are subject to cancellation at short notice, because of for example extreme weather conditions, or changes to local Covid regulations. If a session you have booked unfortunately has to be cancelled, you will be notified automatically via standard Eventbrite ticketing email.
