Severn Bridge 10k and Half Marathon
Sun 27 August 2017, 09:00 – 12:00 BST
The Severn Bridge Half Marathon returns after three very successful and highly acclaimed events. The race was voted BEST NEW RACE in the Runners World Personal Best awards.
We will be returning to the original route this year. Last year we had to make change the route to accommodate major road works on the A403.
The event starts on the Western (Chepstow) end of the Severn Bridge on the motorway itself and after crossing the bridge and back finishes in the event HQ below J2 of the M48, right next to the car park. The event HQ is on a pleasant grassy area overlooking the bridge enabling us to erect all the marquess needed for registration, changing, baggage etc.
The route suits both first timers and experienced club runners - it provides something a bit different from your average 'run-of-the-mill' city half marathon: stunning views, sea air, scenic country lanes and villages and the opportunity to participate in a unique running event on a closed motorway and across the iconic Severn Bridge. Full course details can be found here.
The Severn Bridge 10k is new for 2017. It's on the same day as the Half and finishes in the same place as the half. Event car parking etc is also the same as the Half. The 10k will start though in a different place and half an hour after the Half ... at 9:30am.
