Severn History Walk with Rose Hewlett

Come on a walk through time! Following on from her popular Tuesday talk on the Great Flood of 1607, Rose Hewlett will be leading a guided walk around New Passage and Northwick warth. The area has a long and varied history! Learn about the passenger ferry, hotel and the railway line, traditional fishing methods, migrating birds, reclamation of the warth, sea defences, farming techniques, settlement and the effects of the 1607 flood. The walk will be approximately 5km, beginning and ending in Redwick.
We will be walking mainly on footpaths which may get muddy so please wear appropriate footwear. Sorryy but the paths aren’t suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. Children are welcome but must be happy to walk 5k and listen to the explanations of the history. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome. Please note there is likely to be livestock in the fields we walk through.
This walk is free but booking is essential. The meeting point will be provided on booking.
