Sew your own classic Sasha trousers

You must have made a couple of garments using a pattern on your own before attending this class, and feel confident sewing zips and working unaided. If not then try the Make a skirt class first
Ready to step up your sewing skills and make your own classic tailored trousers?
This 2 day course held over 2 consecutive weekends will teach you how to make a fabulous pair of slim fit classic tailored trousers.

This is the perfect class to learn some trouser making skills, and we’ll provide your own licensed copy of the Closetcase "Sasha" pattern which is destined to become your dream pair of trousers
The Sasha trousers feature a comfy mid-rise, contour waistband, and slim, tapered leg in two lengths, they’re the modern answer to the classic cigarette trousers.

View A is a full-length trouser with a classic slashed side pocket and tummy slimming pocket stay, holding all your bits in place. Add single welt pockets along the back for a classic trouser detail

View B is a simple cropped trouser with an optional pressed crease along the length of the leg for a crisp, polished detail.

The Sasha trousers feature a front fly zip, and are made up in fabric that has some stretch in it, so they're super comfy!

On this course you will learn
  • how to construct a front zip fly
  • how to insert side pockets
  • how to attach a contour waistband
  • how to fit trousers
  • how to insert a welt pocket
Materials required: Between 2.5 and 3.5 metres of woven stretch fabric with at least 20% stretch. Suitable fabrics are stretch denim or twil, or stretch suiting cloth please see the pattern info for more details. you'll also need 0.75 m of cotton lining or pocketing, matching thread and a 7 inch trouser zip.
The pattern is a US 0-20, please get in touch if you're outside this size range.

Cost: £170 (max number of 5 students per session)
Time: 10.30 am – 6 pm on Saturday 14th April and Saturday 21st april. Arrive on time as session starts promptly!

Refreshments: Unlimited tea, coffee and snacks provided. Do Bring along a sandwich for lunch.
