This class is designed for individuals who have successfully moved beyond the Sew Beginners stage and now possess greater confidence in using their sewing machines. The skills and techniques covered are intended to build upon existing knowledge, supporting further development in garment construction.
During this set of classes, particular attention will be paid to two important aspects of sewing: lining a garment and exploring different types of pockets. These elements are essential for creating finished pieces that are both functional and professionally constructed.
Lining a Garment
Participants will gain experience in adding a lining to clothing, learning how this technique improves both the structure and comfort of the finished item.
Different Types of Pockets
The course will also introduce a variety of pocket styles, providing opportunities to practise construction methods and understand the uses and advantages of each type.
The classes take place in Studio 7 at Coda Music & Arts Trust. The studio is very accessible with easy level access to the large carpark.
Ideally, you will bring your own machine, but if you do not have one we can loan one to you for the session. You will need to notify us prior to the sessions.
2m of fabric and a paper pattern to fit you, are both included in the price.
This is a 6 week course starting on Tuesday 4th November at 9.30-11.30am
