Sew @ The Collection - embroidery workshop
Fri 26 May 2017, 10:30 – 16:30 BST
Take inspiration from the Usher Gallery's exhibition 'Colour can raise the dead' - and design and embroider your own set of 4 beautiful and individual coasters.
Explore how a wealth of colour, texture and stitch can transform 4 pieces of fabric into a set of diffent yet harmonious pieces.
Learn basic cross-stitch technique, and explore how through design and experimentation you can create intricate and beautiful stitches, and finished pieces to be proud of.
Work with cotton fabric and thread, and back your pieces with wool felt to finish. Produce an inspired, individual project.
All fabrics and supplies are included, but please bring your own scissors.
Work both in the Usher Gallery and our own workspace.
Suitable for all levels, including beginners. Tuition tailored to your skill level will ensure you produce something to be proud of.
£65 for the full day workshop (includes lunch and refreshments).
Please purchase tickets in advance.
Space is limited to 10 people.
