Sew the Ultimate Jersey dress

Jersey dress: the ultimate Autumn outfit

Whether you make yours up in a classic Breton stripe, or a bold pop of colour, a jersey dress is the ultimate in trans season dressing. This classic shift dress shape suits most figures, plus being stretchy it's both super comfy and chic!

Working with your own licensed copy of the Tilly and the buttons "Coco" dress pattern as a starting point, Claire-Louise will guide you through some pattern hacking options. You may fancy adding an on trend ruffle cuff, or inserting an exposed zip at the back. Want to make your dress less A line- no problem, you'll learn how to reshape the sides. This easy to sew dress can also be made as a top.

Ultimate Autumnal Jersey dress
What you'll learn:
  • How to sew stretchy fabric with a regular sewing machine
  • Attach a laid on sleeve
  • Twin needle hemming
  • Pattern hacking tips and ideas including:
  1. Adding and on trend ruffle cuff to your sleeve
  2. Inserting an exposed zip as a style feature
  3. Using contrast fabric details like Faux leather pockets
