You are booking a single two hour session on TUESDAY afternoon from 2pm-4pm which I will be hosting at THE HALL ON THE HILL, St. Catherine's Hill, Christchurch.

Do the following questions apply to you? If so this workshop is FOR YOU!

Do you fancy some down time or just want to sew?

Would you like some help from a qualified textiles teacher and experience seamstress?

Who is this class for:

These sessions are open to all whether your skills are none existent or advanced. What you choose to make is your choice, see below for guidance.

Please note I am a qualified textiles teacher and experienced seamstress and pattern cutter. I will be there to help you on your sewing journey but this dressmaking session is not a structured workshop, it is an open session where you can work on your own project with my support.

What you will learn:

The skills you will learn will depend upon the product you choose to make but may include:

  • Developing your sewing machine skills
  • How to create an open seam, hem and neaten
  • How to complete fastening such as zips and button& buttonholes
  • How to hand stitch
  • how to create decorative features
  • How to use and read and adapt a commercial pattern

Materials & Equipment:

You will need to bring a project with you. If you are a complete beginner you will need to select a simple or easy beginners pattern and choose a woven fabric to work with. I am happy to answer any queries or questions you may have to help you select a suitable project. Please just email me on nellybeadesigns@gmail.com.

I can loan you a sewing machine for the session but these need to be BOOKED IN ADVANCE by messaging me.

2021 COVID safety precautions. PLEASE READ THE SAFETY DOCUMENT BELOW

COVID Safety Precautions

Updated 9th July 21. You will be updated if any changes become necessary.

I’m delighted to be able to offer some face-to-face classes again.

At the time of creating this listing it is difficult to know where we will be with Covid and what safety precautions might be required. I hope none, but, at a very minimum I will be anti- bacing all surfaces and shared equipment and making hand gel available for you to use on entry and during the class. Any Government guide lines which are in place at the time of the class will be adhered to.

I will send an email nearer the time of this workshop with the safety precautions which will be in place on the day.

What I will do:

Before your arrival I will have anti – baced all of the surfaces, the iron, the overlocker, sewing machines, the equipment where possible and door handles.

During the session anti-bac spray and sanitiser will be available.

Any Government advise concerning wearing masks indoors and letting fresh air in will be adhered to be participants and myself during the session.

I will be circulating the room during the session but will not touch anything useless I get your consent and would sanitise before doing so.

What you need to do:

1: Please sanitise your hands on entering the room using the sanitiser provided.

2: Please bring as much of your own equipment as you can. Equipment will be available and will be sanitised should you need to borrow anything.

5: If you would like to use one of my machines PLEASE BOOK IT WITH ME IN ADVANCE OF THE SESSION. It will be sanitised for you and ready to use.

6: Please bring a face covering to wear during the session if the Government guidelines state we should still be wearing masks indoors .

7: Please feel free to bring your own refreshments and drinks.

I’m sorry it’s a long list but I want you to be confident that enough safety precautions are in place to enable you to return to class. Should you have any questions or concerns please contact me at nellybeadesigns@gmail.com

I look forward to sewing with you soon,
