ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

Have you always fancied making some clothes for yourself? Why not join us in Room 1 at the Learning Centre and sew up your very own set of Dungarees!

There will be two sessions:

Wednesday 17th September from 1-3pm to assist with cutting out the pattern.
Thursday 18th September from 10am-2pm will be the main sewing event.

Join us for this fun-filled 2-day workshop where you’ll learn to sew your very own 'Erin' dungarees—a super comfy addition to your wardrobe that you’ll be proud to say you made yourself!

This class is for confident beginners.

We’ll start with a chat about your machine and the basics of fabric selection and pattern reading, making sure you feel confident every step of the way. Then, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, we'll guide you through cutting, stitching, and assembling your clothing. By the end of the 2 days, you’ll have a fabulous piece to wear and the skills to tackle many more projects in the future.

Expect lots of laughter, a few handy tips, and plenty of encouragement as you unleash your inner designer. Plus, you’ll get to connect with fellow sewing enthusiasts who share your passion. So grab your sewing machine (or borrow one of ours!), and let’s get going!

Suitable for 14+ years - confident beginners preferred.

You will need to bring:

Fabric (non-stretch is preferred, see images below for fabric and size recommendations)
A Sewing Machine**
Scissors & Thread (preferably the colour of your fabric, or similar)
Lunch! We will provide snacks and drinks

Cost of the class is to partially cover the clothing pattern. If you live in Sutherland, Caithness or Easter Ross and can't afford the cost of the class, please email us for a reduced rate: admin@lairglearningcentre.org.uk.
