About this event

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

Join Heather on Thurs 9th Oct, 10.30am - 1.30pm for an 'Intro to Sewing'

Have you always wanted to learn to sew? Maybe you dream of whipping up your own clothes, fixing that tear in your favourite jeans, or just getting crafty and creating something amazing with your own two hands. This is the class to get you started!

"Intro to Sewing" is designed for absolute beginners – no experience needed!

You've come to the right place if the closest you've come to a sewing machine is staring at one in your loft gathering dust...

What we'll cover:

Getting to Know Your Machine: We'll demystify the sewing machine! Learn the parts, how to thread it (without wanting to throw it out the window!), and all the basics.

Sewing Essentials: Stitches, seams, and more. We'll cover all the essential techniques that form the foundation of sewing.

Fabric Fundamentals: What's the difference between cotton and linen? We'll explore different types of fabric and how to choose the right one for your project.

Simple Projects: Put your new skills to the test with fun and easy projects.

Troubleshooting: We'll tackle common sewing problems and teach you how to fix them.

Sewing is a skill for life - so why not give it a try. It'll be sew much fun!
