About this event

Beginners, learn all the skills you'll need to make a versatile Camy Summer Top (sizes 2-30). The workshop covers the basics of using a pattern, cutting out fabric, and the sewing skills to put it altogether. You’ll walk away with a new top you can wear in the day and for the evening too!

All the equipment you need is at the workshop, including a sewing machine, fabric & haberdashery for the sewing-skill samples you make. That said, if you would like to use your own machine or equipment, please bring them! It can be really helpful to learn on what you will be using later. You will also receive Sewing Tutor portfolio pages with making instructions and space to attach any sewing samples. All you need to bring is the fabric and haberdashery for your cushion cover - we suggest you try upcycling! - but we’ll email you all the details before the workshop.

Please note that the workshop is on the 2nd floor and there is no lift.

Organized by

Sewing Tutor Workshops offer hands-on skills and project based learning. The Skills-based workshops offer courses which focus on making samples of a wide range of skills, which you mount on your Sewing Tutor pages, and can refer back to, to help you in further projects (example Code L1S1). In the Project-based workshops students make skills-samples specific to the item they will be making, for example a skirt (example code L2P5). As with the skill-based learning, students mount these skill-samples in their Sewing Tutor pages, which becomes their own Sewing Tutor how-to reference guide.
