2-day Workshop // 10am-5pm both days // Level: Pure Beginner // Cost: £120 // Instructor: Susie Haigh, Designer // Projects: Tote bag, make-up purse, apron, or cushion cover.
Get to grips with the basics of sewing and make something unique for yourself, a friend or a loved one.
Led by Designer, Susie Haigh, this two day workshop is designed to give you a comprehensive introduction to the wonderful world of sewing, equipping you with foundational skills that can be applied to a range of projects. Learn how to use a sewing machine; discover different fabric types and terminology; practice stitches and seams, seam finishes, topstitching, hems, buttonholes, zippers and machine appliqué. Then harness your new found skills to create something special from a selection of mini projects including a tote bag, cushion cover, apron, or make-up purse.
As always, the setting for this course is the relaxing, social atmosphere of The Stitchery studio, which comes fully equipped with a sewing machine for each student (you are welcome to bring your own if you like!).
