Sewing Workshop - Make a Cushion Cover
Petit Miracles is delighted to be working with Daisy from Make Thrift London to bring you this Beginner’s Sewing workshop
Who is this class for?
This workshop is ideal for the complete beginner. It's also a great refresher for someone who hasn't sewn for a while and wants to find their sewing feet again.
What we will cover:
* Setting up the machine, threading up, winding the bobbin correctly
* Basic stitches, what they are used for and how to adjust them
* How to change a needle, and when and which size needle to use
* Stitching practice, straight lines, corners, tips and tricks
* Understanding seam allowances and hemming
You will complete a cushion cover made from a men's shirt or an envelope cushion cover, using fabric of your choice or some from our vintage and salvaged fabrics stash. We'll also provide a fibre cushion insert to take home with you.
What to bring
If you'd like to provide your own fabric, select the "Bring you own Fabric" ticket. Please bring along a men's cotton shirt or half a metre of cotton fabric and thread to match your fabric choice. All other materials and equipment for this class will be provided.
Our maximum class size will be 4 people. This means lots of one-to-one time and a chance to get to know everyone in the group and share the experience in a relaxed environment.
We have a lovely space at the Petit Miracle Hub in Shepherds Bush based upstairs in the West 12 Shopping Centre. Just 2 minutes from Shepherds Bush Central Line and Overground (across from Westfield shopping Centre.)
