Dr Emma Hilton and Dr Ross Tucker, in conversation about female athlete's rights and interests, moderated by Helen Joyce.
About this event
Sex Matters in sport
Until recently, it seemed that male people were going to be allowed to identify into female sporting categories without opposition. But in recent months more female athletes – and scientists, feminists, and philosophers – have started to speak up about the physical advantages that male puberty confers and unfairness of including male athletes in female categories, even on condition of hormone suppression.
Join us for a conversation with two of the people who have done most to ensure that sports policymakers consider female athletes’ interests:
Dr Ross Tucker: sports scientist, advisor to World Rugby and co-host of the “Science of Sport” podcast
Dr Emma Hilton: developmental biologist at Manchester University, member of Sex Matters’ board and legendary tweeter @FondOfBeetles
In a conversation moderated by Helen Joyce, director of advocacy for Sex Matters.
