The UK government consulted on sexual harassment in the workplace from 11 July to 2 October 2019. The consultation received responses from over 130 charities and employers and over 4000 people.

Following consultation and as soon as parliamentary time allows the government plans to:

• Introduce a new duty requiring employers to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace as soon as parliamentary time allows.
• Introduce workplace protections against third-party harassment again when parliamentary time allows.
• Continue to engage with stakeholders regarding extending the time limit for bringing Equality Act 2010 based claims from 3 months to 6 months.
