Supporters and carers often have questions about consent, capacity, and risks when it comes to supporting the sexual health needs of people with dementia. People with HIV can also be at higher risk of dementia and may have more complex care needs. They also frequently experience stigma and discrimination, and many providers are unsure of how to handle issues surrounding disclosure, confidentiality and prevention. This course aims to empower service providers, practitioners and carers to navigate some of the complex situations that may arise when addressing the sexual health needs of people living with HIV and/or dementia.
This course is being led in partnership between Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland and Alzheimer Scotland.
