About this event

Session 3 SHIP training for GPs - Rethinking HIV management for GPs

About this Event

Sexual Health in Practice (SHIP) training is interactive, practical & peer-led training in sexual health, appropriate for all GPs, not just for those with a particular interest. We will make meaningful changes to your clinical practice!

This training is only available for Islington GPs who have completed sessions 1 (SHIP GP Key Issues in Sexual Health) and session 2 (SHIP Blood borne viruses) in the last 5 years.

What do you think is the median age of death for people with HIV?

In this session you should:

  • Learn the commoner causes of death and co-morbidity in HIV patients
  • Develop primary care strategies to intervene
  • Devolve appropriate responsibilities across the primary care team
  • Co-develop a primary care annual review
  • Learn 2 simple audits of HIV care
  • Learn management strategies for the patient not engaged with secondary HIV care

Lunch provided at 1pm. Session starts at 1:30pm

FUNDING available - £300 backfill for attendance + £150 audit completion
