About this event

Please note that this training is only available to practitioners working in the Scottish Borders.


Aim:

Increase awareness and understanding of sexual violence as a form of trauma, how trauma impacts survivors and how to respond to disclosures in a trauma informed way.


Objectives:

• Increased knowledge of SBRCC’s services.

• Increased understanding of the link between gender and sexual violence.

• Increased understanding of the prevalence and impact of sexual violence.

• Increased skills and confidence to offer a trauma- informed response to survivors of sexual violence.


There are four training levels to the National Trauma Training Programme, Trauma Informed, Trauma Skilled, Trauma Enhanced and Trauma Specialist. Our level 1 training aligns to the National Trauma Informed level, this practice level is aimed at all members of the workforce, whether paid or unpaid. Our training focuses on sexual violence as a form of trauma and does not focus on other forms of interpersonal trauma.
