Join us for our second specialist sexual violence and child sexual abuse conference in North and Mid Essex. This years conference is dedicated to changing the culture by listening to survivors. Primarily aimed at frontline professionals, the conference will include the following presentations:

- Report to court: how the criminal justice system fails rape victims and how we can challenge it, Harriet Wistrich, Founding Director, Centre for Women’s Justice

- Are children’s voices being heard? Responses to CSA allegations among family courts and child protection professionals, Dr Ravi K. Thiara, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, University of Warwick

- Using lived experiences of violence to exact change within communities, Molly Ackhurst, Kelsey Mohamed and Katie Spark, Hollaback London

- CARA and our clients: A profile of survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse, Helen Parr, Director, CARA

Beyond Words.

There is potential for information to be lost in translation between professionals and children. Join our Child and Family Practitioners to develop an understanding of how children communicate verbally and nonverbally. This seminar will be partly experiential.

Victims and Survivors' Voices: The Criminal Justice Process

CARA's ISVAs deliver a seminar looking at victims’ experiences of the criminal justice process, from report to court.

Seminar 3:

Social Group Uncensored: Giving Us A Voice

Gain an insight to CARA's scoial group. Hear from group members on the positive impacts and take part in a group activity.

Seminar 4:

Survivors' Stories

Join our team of Adult's Practitioners to learn from the experiences of adult survivors and how they have moved forward from CSA and sexual violence.

Seminar 5:

“If I had one wish…”

How do we ensure the voice of the young person is heard? Join our team of Young Person's Practitioners and hear directly from young people.
