You are invited to a one-day end of project event for the Sexual Violence at UK Music Festivals study (funded by the British Academy)

About this event

You are invited to a one-day end of project event for the Sexual Violence at UK Music Festivals study (funded by the British Academy) taking place on Tuesday 21st September 2021 between 9.30am-3.30pm. The event will be held in-person (subject to Covid-19 restrictions/guidance at the time - to be confirmed nearer the date) as well as virtually. Please ensure you select the correct ticket. In-person spaces are limited so please only select one of these tickets if you intend to attend the event in person.

Location: Ken Wade Theatre, Calman Centre Durham University (for those attending virtually, a Teams link will be provided)

Speakers include:

Dr Hannah Bows (Durham University), Principal Investigator for the Sexual Violence at UK Music Festivals project, will share the findings from the study which examined incidence, nature, impacts and responses to sexual violence at festivals.

Dr Bianca Fileborn (University of Melbourne) and Dr Phillip Wadds (University of New South Wales) will share the findings from their Australian study examining sexual violence and harassment at music festivals.

Tracey Wise (Founder & Operations Manager, Safe Gigs for Women) will discuss their work at, and with, music festivals to prevent and respond to sexual violence.

There will be opportunities to ask questions and discuss policy and practice implications with the speakers and other delegates, which include festival (and wider industry) managers/promoters, criminal justice and welfare agencies.

Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided for those attending in person.
