Day 1 Instruction:
An extensive day of instruction delivering life skills. These include but not limited to the following:
Hill Awareness / First aid / Bergan Packing & Hill Preparation / Survival / Map Reading Theory and Practical Navigation Exercise. You will also undertake some gruelling PT sessions and partake in a river crossing. These are essential skills to a Special Forces solider.
Please note there will be PT sessions on the Saturday so bring spare / dry clothing.
Food: We will be providing hot food in the form of a military style kitchen and will include lunch and evening meal on the Saturday and breakfast on the Sunday morning. Feel free to supplement this with any of your own food for snacks etc. There will be hot drinks available throughout the day.
Overnight Camp: you will be expected to bring your own tent and sleeping gear although you may be building your own military type 'basher' in which you could be sleeping under on the Saturday evening. There are wash and shower facilities on site.
Day 2 SF10:
A 10 mile route which we have chosen to re-create the CFT (Combat Fitness Test). The CFT is a test which all soldiers have to undertake once a year in their service as evidence they are fit and able enough to cover ground fully laden with all their kit required to eat, sleep and fight. The CFT is also required as one of the initial tests of UKSF Selection and is the base level requirement for any potential UKSF soldier to enter onto selection.
We have re-created this CFT in the form of a 10 mile route across stunning countryside in the Scottish Borders. This is a very arduous undulating route which involves steep ascents and descents. You must complete this route to be awarded your custom SF10 finisher’s medal.
Please note that there will be some surprises on this weekend that are designed to give you the experience from a UK Special Forces perspective.
