The Scottish Government has set a new target to build 50,000 new affordable homes by 2020. This is a significant increase to the 33,000 built in the previous 5 years. This means a 67% increase in affordable housing, 35,000 of these homes will be social rented accomodation. The Scottish Government have agreed to invest £3 billion.
