SFX WORKSHOP: SCULPTING,RUNNING & APPLYING SILICON PROSTHETICS
Mon, 12 Jun 2017, 10:30 – Fri, 16 Jun 2017, 17:00 BST
Silicon is the Industry Standard material used in making prosthetics. It is so popular due to its ability to effectivly mimic the many qualities of human skin from its elasticity to its depth and translucency.Silicon even allows for hair to be punched into it! We will be creating sculpts, flat moulds and running prosthetics using this remarkable material. If you ever wanted to up your skills in the makeup department, then this is the course for you!
In this intensive, vocational, 5 day course, you will receive hands-on,professional training from an established SFX Industry tutor, designing & sculpting a series of prosthetics from the ground-up.The focus is on creating your very own, original and totally AWESOME set of flat moulds and prosthetic pieces that you will take home and from which you can run more in the future!
Spaces are extremly limited for these courses and class sizes are small.By maximising tutor to student support,we place a strong emphasis on quality over quantity when it comes to students work.
On this course you will learn:
- How to turn your concept from a idea or doodle into a workable construction schedule
- How to breakdown a design into a multi-piece flat mould arrangement
- Sculpting and moulding tricks and techniques
- Preparing and running prosthetic silicon flat moulds
- Applying and blending silicon prosthetics
- Painting and makeup skills for silicon prosthetics
Its a lot of ground to cover, but it'll be a lot of fun.
