About this Event

This special one-day learning event will focus on providing attendees with an understanding of the key considerations to effectively manage an organization’s transport energy usage, including regulatory requirements e.g. Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) and the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS). The event will also include an insight into ISO 50001 energy management systems (EnMS) and how this can help organizations embed energy management within an organization to drive continual improvement in energy use and meet regulatory compliance, which will be supported with a case study. Full attendance at this event will reward attendees with three (EMA) accredited CPD hours.

Lord Redesdale, Member of the House of Lords, CEO of The Energy Managers Association and The Water Retail Company will open this event highlighting current policy and carbon initiatives.

This will be followed by an inciteful learning and information session by EMA member Rob Anderson, Programme Manager and Senior Fleet Specialist at Cenex. Rob will cover the key issues an organization should consider when managing transport energy including opportunities for improving efficiency. This session will also consider links between transport energy and the new SECR requirements.

After a networking buffet lunch join Terry Coyle, ISO 50001 Product Manager at SGS to gain a better understanding of the energy management systems standard ISO 50001. Terry will provide an overview of how implementation of the standard supports organizations in all sectors, including transport, in managing and continually improving their energy use. Based on the management system model of continual improvement, ISO 50001 makes it easier for organizations to integrate energy management into their overall efforts to meet sustainability targets, CSR goals and regulatory compliance. This section of the training event will include a case study on how this was achieved for an organization with significant expenditure on transport energy.

Finally, participate in a panel discussion with the day’s speakers.
