shado presents a panel discussion with 4 disruptor magazines changing the narrative in mainstream media

About this Event

Join shado at The Curtain for an evening of discussion with 4 publications at the forefront of the ‘disruptor’ movement in independent publishing. Chaired by Javie Huxley, speakers from Skin Deep, Muslim Sisterhood, Between Borders and shado come together to talk about the importance of alternative sources of journalism and storytelling, and how activism in print is creating change.

Chair: Javie Huxley

Javie is a British-Chilean campaigner for Save Latin Village and an illustrator based in London. She also has an MA in Children's literature and Children's illustration from Goldsmiths University. She loves to explore themes of identity and social justice through her art. Instagram @javhux

Skin Deep: Anu Henriques

Anu Henriques is the founder and co-editor-in-chief of Skin Deep, a creative powerhouse that is redefining culture and amplifying voices of colour through discussions of race, politics and activism. Muslim Sisterhood: Lamisa Khan

Between Borders: Luc Hinson

Luc is the co-founding Editor of Between Borders, primarily engaged with exploring British identity through the lens of 2nd/3rd generation migrants.
