Shadow Dancing

Somewhere between a nightclub, a day rave, an ecstatic dance night and a 5 Rhythms session... this is a dance event with a difference. More than three hours of focused music so you can really go within and let your body do the talking. Expect darkness... expect quality music... expect somewhere your space is respected... expect somewhere you can get down in peace.

The programme:

18:30 - 19:00. CANDLELIT WATER CEREMONY IN THE BELL TOWER

If you're going to dance for the next three hours or so... you might want a moment to get into your body... be that by stretching or joining in a water ceremony using sound. High intensity breathing while using your voice can get you high within 20 minutes. This will take place in the incredible acoustics of the bell tower upstairs before we head back down to the crypt... to get down.

19:00 - 20:00. OPENING WITH LIVE DRUMS

Percussion provided by the best drummers you'll find anywhere... seasoned professionals with a single remit... to unleash fire on the dancefloor. Expect high energy, West African inspired rhythmic chaos.

20:00 - 22:30. DJs

Two experienced selectors are at the helm with the sole purpose of serving a relentless supply of irresistible music. Expect depth, texture and drums.

When you arrive, you'll be welcomed by Adam from Spiritual Infusions who offers crazy cocktails you'll never have seen or tasted before. Adam brings a unique flavour to an event because he is both a mixologist and a Drink & Drug Counsellor... with the authority to say no when people have had enough. Although a little bit of what you fancy doesn't hurt... we've all seen events ruined by excess. Whatever your poison... you are welcome to partake... within reason. The vibe here is to soften your edges without melting into a puddle.

Then we ask you to place your gadgets in a Faraday cage for the night....

no calls. no photos. no videos. no distractions.

This event has been a long time in the making. There are people attending who have been waiting for something like this for a very long time... maybe you have too. The musicians and the DJs have been carefully selected for their absolute professionalism and their deep understanding of what makes us dance. They are all dancers themselves. Expect to find yourself in the company of people who are there to dance as if their lives counted on it. There will be plenty of space... only limited tickets available.

Although there is a bar and a sound system... we ask everyone to keep talking to an absolute minimum... this is a music-focused event... and a kind of meditation... an opportunity to go within for a few hours... and really work your body.
