Description

LADIES! ARE YOU READY TO SHAKE?

Team Miss Supranational Nigeria presents ‘Shake 4 Life’, an Afro Latino fusion dance workshop in aid of Women for Women International.

Join us for this 2 hour taster workshop in which we will sample dance styles of African and Latin origin, namely, ‘Kizomba’, ‘Semba’ and ‘Makossa’. The workshop includes an introduction to the “Bad & Booty” series provided by Iris De Brito from Studio Afro Latino dance academy (more information below), followed by a Makossa/ African dance class from the master shaker herself CeeCee Coco.

Why we are shaking:

There is no one day to celebrate the accomplishments of women and champion women’s rights. Hence, we call on all women, of all ages, backgrounds, shapes and sizes to come together to shake what your mama gave ya, as we dance to make a difference.

This event aims to empower women to reach their full potential by helping survivors of war who have suffered the impacts of conflict-ridden environments such as poverty; sexual violence; discrimination; widowhood; and gender inequality, to rebuild their lives. This is an all-inclusive, female only event, so rally up the troops! Bring a friend, roll with your squad, drag your sister along or even bring your Mum - the more the merrier!

Ticket includes:

Studio entry for the full 2 hours and dance workshop participation

A refreshing beverage (prosecco, lemonade or water)

As this is a fundraising event, the purchase of your ticket will act as a donation to the Women for Women International organisation, who accept monthly gifts of £22 to help support women through a year-long training programme. The cost of your ticket will help towards sponsoring a woman for 1 month’s participation in this year-long training programme, in which she may obtain the skills to support her family and transform her life.

Pretty amazing right? So, what are you waiting for? Grab your ticket and your wrap-around and get ready to Shake! FOR LIFE!!
