Shakespeare in Art
Overview
Please note: Booking is Essential
No playwright has been subject to as much interpretation as Shakespeare, and it is said that every age recreates him in its own image. His deep understanding of human nature, his contribution to the English language, the profound beauty and insight of his verse, and the grand themes and variety of his plays have inspired some of Europe’s greatest artists and musicians. The variety of narratives in Shakespeare launched the careers of many artists in Britain in the 18th century when, if you loved Britain, you also loved Shakespeare.
