Explore speeches from Shakespeare's plays through textual exercises to find performance and staging suggestions for actors and directors.

These sessions are about trying out tools to excavate Shakespeare's text for as many creative opportunities as possible for actors and directors. You will leave this session with a bucket full of new or refreshed techniques, ready to tackle any Shakespearean speech.

Classes are £12 for one off, £40 for all four.

About the Workshops

During the, 2 hour, small group workshops, Emma will take you through a series of close reading and practical exercises to reveal creative possibilities beneath the surface of your chosen speech. We'll look at monologues and duologues from 2 different plays. Scripts will be made available to you in advance but no preparation is needed.

Build your confidence, remind yourself of & discover new theatrical tools, and get to play with Shakespeare.

The workshops will take place in the Theatre at Accidental Theatre, on Shaftsbury Square, Belfast.

All you need to bring is a pen and a copy of the provided Shakespeare scripts that you can annotate.
