Two teachers from St William of York Primary School and Kelvin Grove Primary have have been selected to take part in a prestigious teacher exchange, focusing on mathematics, with a partner school in Shanghai. Nicola Doherty and Kris Clark, who completed the Mastery Specialists programme with London South East Hub last year, are among 70 expert mathematics teachers from schools across England taking part in an exchange as part of the Maths Hubs programme.
This is the third such exchange is being run as part of the National Maths Hubs programme, funded by the DfE, and coordinated by the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM). The exchange is part of a long-term project, run within the Maths Hubs programme, to help teachers in English schools introduce mastery approaches to teaching maths in their schools.
Having recently returned from a visit to Shanghai, Nicola and Kris are currently hosting their partner teachers from Shanghai for two weeks at St William of York Primary School.
The London South East Hub is offering an exciting opportunity to experience, first hand, the pedagogical approaches our counterparts employ. We would like to invite you to observe our guests delivering a lesson on either 7th or 8th December, from 9 to 10:30am,
