Description

This Design Commission for Wales hosted charrette is your opportunity to explore the potential of one of
Cardiff’s most significant development sites. The area to the south of Cardiff Central Station, including the Brains Brewery site, is proposed for redevelopment and will be our focus for the day. The interactive day will explore your thoughts, ideas and perspectives on the key opportunities, creative ways to overcome constraints and contribute to the development of a vision for what a new place here could be like.

The charrette forms part of a phased programme of consultation being undertaken by the developer, Rightacres. They want to hear from a wide range of people, including those with a passion for the built environment who can offer a fresh perspective. There is a real opportunity to engage with proposals currently being developed by the appointed consultant team.

By attending the charrette you will:

· Collaborate with creative people from a range of built environment disciplines

· Have a tour of the site

· Be fuelled with food and drinks throughout the day

· Explore creative ideas in a real life case study that will emerge over a generation

· Receive a CPD certificate

A full agenda and further details will be distributed to those who sign up for the event.

The Commission is Wales’ champion for good design in the built environment: in buildings, places, landscape and public realm. We connect the design disciplines of architecture, urban and landscape design with decision makers who shape the countryside, cities, towns and villages of Wales. Through our networks we connect with professional bodies, local authorities, clients and commissioning bodies, in planning, regeneration, energy and infrastructure.
