Shaping Denton for the Future - Part 2
Work is starting on a fact-finding mission to help shape Denton Town Centre’s new Public Realm Masterplan. Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council’s Strategic Growth team, and consultants are engaging with residents, businesses, community groups and stakeholders to explore improvements to public streets and spaces. This workshop aims to gather feedback on the emerging strategy and ideas, and will also help guide how the allocated Government Funding announced in 2022 will be spent to enhance active travel, services, and town centre spaces.
In July, the team held the first of two phases of stakeholder workshops and a pop-up to hear local people's views about their priorities for the Denton Town Centre. These views have been integral in shaping the emerging strategic public realm masterplan for the town centre.
Please join us for an interactive workshop with some of the design team on Tuesday 23rd September to hear about the emerging strategic masterplan and to ensure it reflects key community and stakeholder aspirations and requirements.
We’ll be running two workshops. Please sign-up to one of the workshops below to attend and share your views. Both workshops are the same, so please only sign-up to one.
If you’re not able to attend the workshop, you will also be able to see the emerging masterplan and share your views online via a simple survey at: www.tameside.gov.uk/destinationdenton. This information will be published in due course. The survey will be live for 4 weeks from mid-September 2025. The website will be updated with a closing date once confirmed.
