Event description
Shape Generation of Change project and help us to tackle racial inequality in Liverpool City Region.

About this Event

The race equality agenda and empowering young people are both high on the Metro Mayor’s list of commitments in helping to tackle inequality across the City Region.

The Generations of Change project is a collaboration between Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Curious Minds, which seeks to recruit six young people from communities which experience racism in our society and provide them with a placement with community-based organisations. Working with their host organisations, the young people will develop and deliver bespoke cultural engagement projects with the goal of amplifying the voices and sharing the lived experiences of citizens from diverse communities.

While serving as a crucial development opportunity for the young people involved in the project, the insights and feedback they gain will help to inform the Metro Mayor's ongoing drive to tackle the inequality experienced by those who experience racism.

We're looking to launch the programme in March 2021 but, in order to finalise the programme, we'd really value the insights from organisations and individuals with experience of working with young people or on projects designed to address inequality.

We're keen to learn:

-how we can learn from the projects you/your organisation have been involved in.

-how this project might complement initiatives you're currently working on.

-how you may be able to support us and to identify further opportunities for collaboration.

Register for one of two sessions taking place on Tuesday 19th January from 3pm to 5pm or on Friday 22nd January from 10am to 12pm.

Places are limited so successful registration does not necessarily mean you will be able to take part. We will confirm whether or not you are able to attend via email and will share the link to the event with you 24 hours before the event.
